  TERI Views

Editorial by Arupendra Nath Mullick, Vice President - TERI CBS

We look back with delight at our engagements with members of our Council in the first quarter of FY 18-19. Enthused participation of companies in the Council’s network contributed to the success of the Thought Leadership webinar series – which we started during the current financial year. Our cooperation with stakeholders in Japan and Netherlands, while aligned to the bilateral cooperation, urged Indian businesses develop solutions to tackle sustainability challenges.

Two of our platforms - Energy Transition Commission India and Waste-Proofing the Future - have gathered momentum amongst the members. By addressing two key sustainability challenges of India viz. energy security and energy sustainability and closed-loop waste management, we indeed look forward to effective means to promote business solutions that will inflict transformational changes.

Our Council for Business Sustainability serves as the interface for our research work to be connected to the corporate world and enables a two-way communication and engagement. TERI CBS engages with the core issue of what businesses must do to shape and lead in sustainability.

We hope that the first newsletter for FY 18-19 provides you a bountiful reading. Please do reach out to us with your suggestions/feedback.
