As monsoon rains inundated parts of Himachal Pradesh and Delhi, July came as a stark reminder of the devastating impacts of climate change bolstering our commitment for urgent climate action. With the visit of H.E. Mr Virginijus Sinkeviius, Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries, European Union, engagement of TERI with CEM14/MI8, launch of a host of discussion papers and T20 policy briefs, TERI stayed true to its aim of creating a more sustainable future.

Generation Green: Promoting Sustainable Lifestyles for Youth, by Youth


TERI in collaboration with Centre for Responsible Business, EU-REI and GIZ organized an interactive session on ‘Generation Green: Promoting Sustainable Lifestyles for Youth, by Youth’ with H.E. Mr Virginijus Sinkeviius, Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries, European Union.

U20 Mayoral Summit


TERI as a knowledge partner, participated in the U20 Mayoral Summit held in Ahmedabad. TERI experts contributed to developing background research papers on two of the areas of U20- ‘Encouraging Environmentally Responsible Behaviors' and “Ensuring Water Security’, that laid the foundation for meaningful discussions in the summit.

Launch of The Green School Phase VI


TERI, along with Tata Steel Foundation, organized the launch of ‘The Green School Phase VI’ to celebrate the achievements of the initiative over the years to pave a sustainable path for the future. TERI and TSF work towards educating and empowering young minds in the age group of 12-14 years. This initiative was launched in 2017 to work towards creating awareness about environmental conservation in schools through curriculum linkages, action projects, and capacity-building activities.

TERI’s Side Event at OEWG 45 Bangkok


TERI organized a side event on 'Implementation of Low Carbon Intensive District Cooling in Developing Countries: Learnings from India Cooling Action Plan' which involved a technical presentation by sector experts and engagement with the audience to provide insights to achieve sustainable cooling.

Shaping the Discourse: Effective Energy Efficiency Storytelling


TERI organized a media workshop on 'Shaping the Discourse: Effective Energy Efficiency Storytelling', to strengthen engagement and build the capacity of media professionals on energy efficiency reporting. The workshop engaged journalists through strategically designed brainstorming sessions and built their reporting and storytelling capabilities on energy efficiency and its implications in India.

Training Program on 'Identifying and Mitigating Risks of Biogas Projects'


TERI, in collaboration with US Environmental Protection Agency and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy organized a virtual training program on 'Identifying and Mitigating Financial and Technical Risks of Biogas Projects'. The training provided an in-depth understanding of the importance of risk analysis in biogas projects and demonstrated how to use the Risk Analysis Checklist for Biogas Projects to identify and mitigate risks associated with biogas projects.

The 8th Energy Research Institute Network (ERIN) Workshop - Energy Transition in Asia; Gaps and Risks


Energy Research Institute Network (ERIN), in collaboration with Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), organized its 8th workshop on ‘Energy Transition in Asia; Gaps and Risks’ which served as a reference for energy and environment discussions at the G20. The workshop featured discussions by experts from Asia and around the world regarding Energy Transition in Asia.

Gender-Just Transition: Establishing Women as Critical Stakeholders


TERI hosted an Experts’ Roundtable on 'Gender-Just Transition: Establishing Women as Critical Stakeholders' to solicit inputs from gender experts and stressed establishing women as crucial stakeholders in Just Transition dialogues and ensuring gender inclusivity policies. The roundtable was based on TERI's on-going work on a discussion paper on the same theme and deliberation on the aspects of gender budgeting, women's agency, health and social impacts etc.

Technology & Cultural Showcase


With the support from CALSTRAT and Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation as knowledge partner, TERI organized 'Technology & Cultural Showcase' which demonstrated the remarkable advancements made in the field of ‘Zero Emission Vehicles’ and their potential to accelerate decarbonization of India's transport sector.

Panel Discussion on "An Economy-wide Quantified Goal on Energy Efficiency in India


TERI hosted an official side event during the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM 14) and Mission Innovation (MI8) held alongside India’s G20 Presidency. The event was held on the sidelines of the Energy Transitions Working Group (ETWG) of the Sherpa Track of the G20 and the panel discussion titled, “An Economy-wide Quantified Goal on Energy Efficiency in India” deliberated on the need, international practices, methods and issues of having an economy-wide quantified energy efficiency target for India, as a part of the country’s clean energy and climate target.

India – Japan Deeptech Innovation & Clean Energy Seminar


TERI in association with NEDO, JETRO and FICCI is co-hosted the India – Japan Deeptech Innovation & Clean Energy Seminar that aimed at enhancing partnerships between India and Japanese businesses, cover areas of DeepTech innovation and clean energy, and focus on topics of green hydrogen, green ammonia, clean mobility, digital innovation and semiconductors. TERI in association with NEDO hosted two panel discussions on: India – Japan Cooperation on Green Hydrogen mission, and Various Mobilities Contributing to Carbon Neutrality.

Programme LEAD


As part of Programme LEAD, a felicitation ceremony for students from grades 9 to 12 to provide students with an opportunity to benefit from sessions conducted by experts covering topics such as climate change, waste management, water, urbanization, green buildings, G20 and Mission Life, renewable energy, Just Transition, biofuels, and biodiversity.

First Annual Meet and International Conference on Advancing Circular Economy and Water Reuse


TERI along with National Mission for Clean Ganga, FICCI and the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, organized the first ‘Annual Meet and International Conference on Advancing Circular Economy and Water Reuse.
The conference aimed at bringing together stakeholders and discuss the current status and future need to advance towards a circular economy and water reuse to meet commitments of various National Missions and UN Sustainable Development Goals.
