Dear Reader,
December was a month of reflection and momentum. We closed 2025 by deep-diving into the critical outcomes of COP 30, TERI and CRF Decode the Global Climate Agenda with a post COP30 Dialogue. We also entered an MOU with Tolani Maritime Institute and released a COP30 Debriefing Paper: Belém Package Recasting Ambition, Equity, and Finance in the Next Phase of Climate Action. As we step into January 2026, the energy at TERI is focused on the horizon. This month marks the start of our countdown to the World Sustainable Development Summit and its landmark Silver Jubilee. We are excited to channel our end-of-year energy, as we prepare for the world to join us this February.
As 2025 draws to a close, TERI reflects, with gratitude on a year of cutting-edge research, institutional growth, and policy leadership that further entrenched its role as a global sustainability driver. The Institute made significant strides, publishing influential policy briefs and advancing industrial decarbonization through technical roadmaps for energy-efficient steel and low-emission ironmaking. As it charts its next chapter, TERI remains steadfast in driving just, inclusive, and science-backed climate action.

In this special year-end edition of TAKE 3, Dr Vibha Dhawan, DG TERI, charts the roadmap for 2026—the year of implementation. Dr Dhawan argues that climate action must move beyond a separate ‘environmental’ vertical to be embedded into our very economic fabric.
