Dear Reader,

It was a memorable month for The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) which completed its 50 years on June 18, 2024. To mark this momentous occasion, the institute organized a day-long event spotlighting a wide array of its work. It included the launch of the book, ‘Creating Impacts, Transforming Lives’, chronicling TERI’s success stories over five decades.

TERI was also in the forefront in commemorating ‘World Environment Day’ by organizing events, putting out videos, podcasts and op-eds on relevant topics.

TERI Celebrates 50 Years of Environmental Excellence and Innovation


The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) celebrated the momentous occasion of its 50th anniversary with a grand celebration. The day-long event highlighted TERI's five decades of pioneering work in sustainable development, environmental research, and resource management, marking a significant milestone and setting the stage for growth for the next 50 years.

TERI’s 100-day Green Agenda for the New Government


TERI, which has been at the forefront of advocating and supporting various environmental initiatives, compiled inputs for a 100-day green agenda for the new government.

To mark its 50th anniversary, TERI launched the book 'Creating Impacts, Transforming Lives', illustrating groundbreaking work of its researchers through various projects. The book launch was attended by former Union Minister Mr Suresh Prabhu.

TERI Honours the Youth Environmental Leaders on World Environment Day


To promote interdisciplinary learning and catalyze behavioural changes among the youth, thereby ensuring their holistic development, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) organized a felicitation ceremony under the banner of GREEN Olympiad for Youth (GO4Youth), an annual MCQ-based environment examination for students in the age bracket of 18-25 years.

NDDB, TERI and SRDI Inks MoU to Improve Rural Livelihoods & Promote Environmental Sustainability


The National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and the Suzuki R&D Center India Pvt. Ltd (SRDI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collectively advance initiatives in renewable energy, circular economy, rural development and waste management. This collaboration aims to improve rural livelihoods by assisting stakeholders in generating carbon credits through mitigation measures, exploring mechanisms for carbon credit exchange and developing methodologies and tools for assessing carbon footprints of rural livelihood activities.

TERI and Deendayal Port Authority Host Final Conference on 'Transition of Business Operations to Water Neutrality'


The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) successfully concluded a pivotal conference on the "Transition of Business Operations to Water Neutrality." This event marked the culmination of a collaborative effort to implement sustainable water management practices within the port’s operations and its surrounding ecosystem under phase one of the study.
