March was a month of action and engagement at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) with a host of workshops, seminars and launches. The organization's patented Mycorrhizal technology was recognized at a global platform when the World Economic Forum chose it as an innovative technology aiding conservation. TERI spearheaded the move to felicitate stakeholders working to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal on water with the Water Sustainability Awards.
Recognition from World Economic Forum
The World Economic Forum has chosen TERI as one of the thirteen innovative organisations working to conserve and restore India’s forest landscapes. TERI has been recognised for its patented and innovative Mycorrhizal technology that acts as a biofertilizer, as well as aids the restoration of abandoned fly ash ponds, chlor-alkali ash dumps and land loaded with distillery effluents. It has been used to reclaim barren land and improve productivity in Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, UAE, and Qatar.

Written by Urmi A Goswami and supported by GAIL (India) Limited it is dedicated to children and aims to make them realize the need and importance of pollution control for a cleaner and sustainable environment.

Inception Meeting - Small Grant Program (7th Operational Phase) in India
The First Inception Meeting of the GEF Seventh Operational Phase of the Small Grants Programme in India (SGP-OP7), being implemented by MoEFCC with the support of UNDP and TERI, was organised on March 29, 2022. It aimed at building awareness of interested NGOs, CSOs in the project landscape regarding the project objectives, thematic areas, selected landscapes, and information on the grant procedure.

India-Japan Hydrogen Seminar
TERI, in collaboration with the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) India, organized an Indo-Japan Hydrogen Seminar on March 24, 2022 where experts addressed the enormous potential of hydrogen in India, and the opportunities for Japanese industries with advanced hydrogen technologies to partner with India as it widens its Green Hydrogen production.

TERI-IWA-UNDP Water Sustainability Awards 2021-2022
World Water Day 2022 saw various stakeholders including individuals, civil society organizations, and industries leading the local movement for the Sustainable Development Goal on Water in the most transformative, impactful and innovative way being facilitated.

MoU to set up Centre of Excellence on CSR and Sustainability
TERI and the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on March 11 to set up a ‘Centre of Excellence on CSR and Sustainability’ which will devise solutions in the domain to achieve national and global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Webinar on Mainstreaming Climate Change into Development Policies and Strategies
Policymakers and development practitioners were part of a webinar organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Sikkim ENVIS Hub to discuss the need for impactful policies to reduce climate risks across sectors - from agriculture and water to transportation and health.
