April was the month to consolidate partnerships as well as to host and curate events that brought together stakeholders to deliberate on the critical themes of just green transitions and women entrepreneurship. Here is April at TERI in a nutshell.

Development Working Group side event on Just Green Transitions


TERI, in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India; India’s G20 secretariat, and Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), hosted a Development Working Group side event on the theme “Just Green Transitions” at Kumarakom on April 06, 2023. The multi-stakeholder event had policymakers, civil society, and industry experts deliberate on the need to lower the cost of capital in green transition projects.

TERI-SAP High-Level CEO Breakfast Roundtable


TERI, along with SAP, hosted industry leaders for a High-Level CEO Breakfast Roundtable to discuss ‘Technology for Sustainability’ at TERI Gram on April 18, 2023. The discussions focussed on how industry decarbonization and risk resilience can be enhanced using data-driven analytics and technology.

Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme (WEDP-2)


TERI, with the support of the National Science Technology and Entrepreneurship Board Development Board, and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, inaugurated its three-week-long virtual Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme (WEDP-2) to train Science and Technology graduates and diploma holders in the essentials of entrepreneurship and build their capacity to run a successful enterprise.

Consumers lack awareness of E20’s impact on vehicles, say experts

Speaking to The Economic Times about E20 blended petrol, Mr IV Rao, Distinguished Fellow, TERI, observed that “E20 fuel consumption could be higher than that of unblended petrol due to lower calorific value.”


Turning the table: Delhi recharges more groundwater than it extracts

In his expert input in The Times of India’s article on Delhi's water situation, Dr SK Sarkar, Distinguished Fellow, TERI, notes, “The artificial recharge and rainwater harvesting augments groundwater. If piped water supply is high, the dependence on groundwater is less.”

Data Lab: Making sense of India’s forest cover change, both gains and losses

Speaking to WION on India's forest cover change, Dr Yogesh Gokhale, Senior Fellow, TERI, stressed the need to set the classification of forests as per their canopy density to understand the loss of forest cover.

Bills and Acts: Forest Conservation Bill

Speaking to Sansad TV on the Forest Conservation Bill, Dr Vibha Dhawan, Director General, TERI, highlighted the role forests play in storing carbon dioxide and the need to protect them while ensuring the livelihood and sustenance of forest communities.

Programme LEAD



TERI has developed a summer programme on Leadership for Environment, Awareness and Development for students of grades 9-12 to strengthen their portfolios and impart knowledge on issues related to environment and sustainable development. The programme also aims to accentuate their life skills and provide access to carefully curated resource and networks.

TerraGreen Special Edition



The special edition of TerraGreen on the World Sustainable Development Summit 2023 brings together the key messages from the Summit and also in-depth stories from across the world on issues critical to sustainable development and climate crisis.



Technology-Based Entrepreneurship Development Programme



Join TERI and the Department of Science and Technology, India, for an online Solar Technology- Based Entrepreneurship Development Programme (TEDP) that aims to train Science and Technology graduates and diploma holders on the nuances of planning and launching a successful solar enterprise.




GRIHA Water Positive Certification




TERI has been providing stakeholders with technical assistance to obtain the ‘GRIHA Water Positive Certification’. Analysis by TERI experts aid in providing recommendations for the design and development of sustainable and water-efficient measures for the project/site/business to target and achieve overall self-sufficiency and water positivity.

3-day Training Workshop on GRIHA V.2019
May 24 –26, 2023 | New Delhi
The GRIHA Council is hosting a three-day training programme on GRIHA V. 2019 for students and professionals from diverse backgrounds ranging from architecture, civil and environmental engineering, to urban planning. The GRIHA V. 2019 deals with new concepts in building design and construction sector and integrates aspects such as life cycle assessment, life cycle cost analysis, and water performance index.
