Know MoreMercedes-Benz Research and Development India and TERI unveiled a landmark whitepaper on skilling for EV charging infrastructure at Mercedes-Benz Sustainability Dialogue India 2025. The whitepaper highlights the critical role of charge point operators (CPOs)–the backbone of EV charging infrastructure–in driving India’s transition to electric mobility. It identifies limited hands-on training opportunities, the absence of standardized training modules for CPOs, and a shortage of qualified trainers with expertise in both technical and operational aspects of EV charging infrastructure as the top barriers to building this workforce. The study engaged experts from diverse stakeholder groups, including original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), academic institutions, course curators, and CPOs.
Know MoreThis position paper seeks to build foundational awareness and understanding of electric vehicles (EVs), with an emphasis on accelerating their adoption in India. The analysis focuses on the private vehicle segment, as highlighted in a study by TERI, that projects a substantial rise in personal vehicle ownership, making it a critical area for electrification. The paper provides the state of play of the EV ecosystem in the country, addressing key challenges, policy frameworks, and market trends that shape their adoption. By providing insights into government incentives, technological advancements, and infrastructure developments, it seeks to dispel common myths and highlight the benefits of transitioning to EVs.
Know MoreThe updated Green Budgeting Toolkit and Playbook provide practical, ready-to-use instruments to mainstream sustainability in public finance. It includes a pro-forma for departmental self-assessment, a Green Budget Statement structure, a detailed playbook, presentation templates, and portal-based resources with case studies and global practices, making green budgeting accessible, replicable, and scalable across states, Union Territories, and at the national level.
Know MoreThis paper brings together valuable insights on emerging technologies, market trends, investment flows, and skill imperatives that are central to India’s energy transition. Know More“From modest beginnings, India has now built one of the world’s largest renewable energy markets, with solar leading the way,” write Mr AK Saxena, Senior Director; and Dr Arunendra Kumar Tiwari, Fellow, TERI, in their op-ed for 360 Info.org.
Know More“Community monitoring and smarter infrastructure can turn Guwahati's flood response from reactive to proactive,” writes Ms Shreya Gupta, Research Associate, TERI, in her article for the Deccan Herald.
“From housing to highways, India's growth story rests on cement. But this is a 'hard to abate' sector as far as carbon emissions go. Thankfully, pathways exist to decarbonize it,” write Dr Vibha Dhawan, Director General, TERI and Mr Joydeep Mukherjee, Co-Chair, GCCA India, in their op-ed for Mint.
“The SMR concepts incorporate passive safety systems that function without human intervention or external power, relying instead on natural forces such as gravity. This inherent resilience makes them particularly robust in the face of extreme events, including station blackout scenarios. Their design offers multiple advantages: smaller reactor cores containing less fissile material, thereby reducing the potential radiological source; and lower operating pressures in certain configurations,” write Mr K Ramanathan, Distinguished Fellow; and Dr Arunendra Kumar Tiwari, Fellow, in their article for The Tribune.
Know More“The next climate conference scheduled in Brazil is getting closer even as the prospects of global cooperation continue to dim further by the day. In this scenario, questions are being asked whether Belém COP will be able to give momentum to global climate efforts. The United States, the biggest economy on earth and the second largest emitter is not engaged in the process; its non-involvement in the past has often acted as dampener.” write Mr RR Rashmi, Distinguished Fellow, in his article for the TERI Web Desk.
