Low low shower heads
Showerheads conventionally consume a lot of water ranging from 11 litres–26 litres per minute.
These could be replaced with new low flow showerheads using 9 litres per minute or even lower.
These new showerheads have a narrower spray area and a greater mix of air and water than
conventional showerheads. Alternatively, flow restrictors could be installed inside the conventional
showerhead and reduce the flow.

Autocontrol valves
Also, a number of automatic control valves are available to reduce the flow/consumption of water.
These devices deliver a metered flow only when the fixture is in use. For faucets, both the flow rate
and activation time can be adjusted. A number of options are available, such as a metered valve
faucet, which delivers 1 litre of water and is then set to automatically shut off or a self-closing faucet
that is spring-loaded and shuts off a few seconds after the water is turned on. Some faucets have
infrared sensors that automatically turns on the water when a hand is sensed underneath and then
automatically shut off when it senses that nothing is underneath the faucet.
