World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) 2019
 
Join us in the 18th year of our journey to bring people and ideas together for a cleaner, better world at the World Sustainable Development Summit. The 2019 edition of the summit will be inaugurated by Honourable Vice President of India, Shri Venkaiah Naidu. Here's your chance to influence India's resource efficiency policy
TERI, in consultation with the Resource Efficiency Cell of the Union Ministry of Environment, has prepared a reference document that will be further used to prepare an Integrated Resource Efficiency Policy for India. All stakeholders, including members of the general public, are requested to share their comments and suggestions on this document.

 
 
 
Shifting to cycling can result in an annual savings of up to 1.6% of India's GDP
 
TERI and All India Cycle Manufacturers' Association recently launched the report ‘Benefits of Cycling in India: An Economic, Environmental, and Social Assessment'. It suggests that cycling for short distances can result in an annual benefit of Rs. 1.8 trillion to the economy, which is equivalent to 1.6% of India's annual GDP. It also indicates that cycling regularly for an average of 3.5 km for just 120 days can help avoid 4,756 premature deaths.
