20.3 Appraisal (maximum points – 2)
20.3.1 treated water should meet the disposal/reuse application standards (2 points).

Non-Applicability condition: If wastewater generation on site is less than 10 kL/day.
Packaged plants, which are commonly used in commercial and institutional buildings (sites with space constraints), are currently
available in the market in different capacities. The minimum size available is for 10 kL/day under this category of treatment plants.
The investments (capital and operational) associated with treatment plants below this capacity are not inancially feasible. Hence,
a non-applicability condition applies here that if total wastewater generation from a site is less than 10 KL/day, this criterion is not
applicable.

Evaluation procedure

Appraisal 20.3.1
treated water should meet the disposal standards (2 points).

Required documentation

1. drawings, specifications, and treatment capacity of the proposed wastewater treatment
plant along with a brief write-up.
2. quantity of the treated wastewater generated; proposed action plan for the reuse or
disposal of the treated wastewater.
3. Characteristics of wastewater and expected characteristics after treatment as claimed by
the supplier.
4. Proposed quality checking frequency plan with laboratory details in the given format (table
20.2).
5. Sludge management/disposal strategies.
Review checklist

1. review the submitted drawings and write-up to see the type of treatment plant, it’s capacity,
quantity of influent, and effluent from the treatment plant
2. review the proposed action plan for reuse and/or disposal of treated wastewater.
