Sun path diagram
The sun path diagram is the graphical representation of the paths of sun for various days of the year.
Here the hemisphere of the sky is represented by a circular plane diagram.
The other graphical components of the circle are:
1. Zenith - the centre of the circle
2. Azimuth/ Horizon line - the outer circumference of the circle
3. Solar azimuth angles (Az) - the various angles of compass are shown along the circumference
of the chart
4. Solar altitude angles (As) – concentric circles (The outermost circumference denoting zero
and the centre denoting 900 of altitude. The radius of the outermost circle is divided into
nine equal parts with concentric circles passing through each of these divisions. Therefore,
the circles represent ten-degree steps of altitude)
