In place of urea formaldehyde, other adhesives for wood can be used to ensure that no formaldehyde
is released in the indoor environment. Phenol formaldehyde and melamine formaldehyde are
significantly more stable than urea formaldehyde and do not readily release formaldehyde in the
air. These are used as substitutes for urea formaldehyde.
