Review Checklist
1. review the topsoil test report to check
• Whether the tests have been performed at ICAR - accredited laboratory.
• Whether the topsoil samples taken for testing represent the entire site.
2. if the certificate from the landscape architect states that topsoil is suitable for preservation,
review the soil test report to check if the primary soil nutrients and ph are within acceptable
range.
3. if the certificate from the landscape architect states that topsoil is unsuitable for preservation,
review the reasons cited for the same and ensure that they are adequate.
4. review the narrative to check if adequate measures have been taken for soil stabilization
and photographic evidence for the same (wherever required) has been provided.

Possible errors
1. topsoil test report is taken from a single location on site and is considered representative of
the entire site.
2. topsoil volume inadequate to meet landscape requirement at the post construction stage.
3. methods of soil stabilization are inadequate to contain soil erosion.
4. Soil is stored in very high stacks regardless of the recommendations of the nbC.
