Topsoil and loose stacked soil should be mulched and covered with temporary vegetation. This
is to ensure that the fertility of the soil is maintained, the fertile soil is not lost to run-off and that it
does not add to air pollution by becoming air-borne. Figure 4 is an example of temporary vegetation
carried over stored top soil.

During construction, various pathways and roads become loose and dust from these surfaces
can become air-borne when vehicles or humans move on it. In order to suppress the dust, water can
be sprinkled over such surfaces as shown in figure 5.
