Analysis procedure
In order to optimize the proposed building design and minimize energy consumption while ensuring
thermal and visual comfort within specified limits, the following procedure has been adopted for
the project.
Step 1: Climate analysis
The building designer is interested specifically in those aspects of climate, which affect human
comfort and building use. They include averages, changes and extremes of temperature, solar
radiation, relative humidity, and wind movement of the area. A detailed climate analysis of Patna
weather file has been performed to arrive at the following passive design strategies appropriate for
the project:
# Passive solar heating (only for winter)
# Thermal mass + night-purge ventilation
# Natural ventilation
