4. Calculation showing the percentage saving in water due to use of eicient ixtures and
faucets when compared with the base case.
Review checklist
1. review the calculation table and flow rates mentioned in the design case and match it with
the manufacturers’ specifications and boq.
Possible errors
1. flow rates of all fixtures as given in the calculation table may not match with the
manufacturers’ specification sheets or boq document.
2. flow rates for faucets (lavatory and kitchen) are usually not mentioned in the specification
sheets in india. So, a certificate from the manufacturer should be submitted stating the flow
rate at 80 psi (standard followed internationally). at times, the cut-sheets for the fixture/
faucet are provided without any certificate stating the flow rates at 80 psi.
Point allocation
one point should be awarded if the reduction in water consumption is 25% or more and subject to
the matching of flow rates with the manufacturers’ specifications and boq document.
further,one more point should be awarded if the reduction in water consumption is 50% or more.
