6.3 Appraisal (maximum points – 3)
6.3.1 Luminous eicacy of 100% of lamps used in outdoor lighting (Table 6.2) meets the
corresponding lamp luminous eicacy as mentioned in Table 6.1, as per clause 6.2.1
(1 point).
6.3.2 automatic controls for 100% of outdoor lights, as per clause 6.1.2 (1 point).
6.3.3 Percentage of total outdoor lighting fixtures with solar lighting system, as per clause
6.1.3 (a minimum of 25% of total number or 15% of total connected load, whichever is
higher [1 point])

Appraisal 6.3.1
Luminous eicacy of 100% of lamps used in outdoor lighting meets the corresponding lamp
luminous eicacy as mentioned in table 6.1, as per clause 6.2.1 (1 point).
Required documentation
1) Luminous eicacy of each type of lamp used in outdoor lighting in the format prescribed in
griha.
2) outdoor lighting drawings.
3) manufacturers’ cut sheets for details of lamps, ballasts, luminaires, and automatic controls.
Review checklist
1) Review the ‘format for luminous eicacy calculation’ to check whether the luminous
eicacies of lamps are higher than the minimum allowable values speciied by GRIHA.
Possible errors
1) all outdoor lights including security lighting, street lighting, landscape lighting, façade
lighting, and parking lighting may not have been considered.
2) the number of lamps listed in the format may not include the total number of exterior
lamps. So, review detailed lighting drawings to match the total number of lamps listed in
the format for luminous eicacy with the total number of exterior lamps marked on the
detailed exterior lighting drawings (lamp listed in the legend).
3) Lamp and ballast speciications listed in the ‘format for luminous eicacy calculation’ may
differ from that of the manufacturer’s cut sheets.
