pipes. Similarly, the water pipelines, rainwater harvesting pipelines can be clubbed in
multiple channels but placed close by on site to cause minimum disruption on site. utility
services can be clubbed together while ensuring that the distance between different
services is maintained as per the codes.
Possible errors
1) the number of utilities consolidated may be few in comparison to the utilities present on
site.
2) Similar utility sections might be repeatedly shown in the drawings.
Points allocation
one point should be awarded if various utilities are consolidated into utility corridors.
Appraisal 7.3.3
Consolidation of utility corridors along the previously disturbed areas or along new roads in
order to minimize unnecessary cutting and trenching and ensure easy maintenance, as per
clause 7.2.3. (1 point)
Required documentation
1) a drawing showing that the various utility corridors have been consolidated with
transportation corridors.
Review checklist
1) Check that various utility corridors and transportation corridors have been consolidated
together on site. for example, the pedestrian walkways and the roads may have channels
on either side housing different utilities. when a certain distance has to be maintained
between two services like waste water discharge pipe and rainwater harvesting pipes,
they may be placed on two sides of the roads as demonstrated in the example below. this
ensures that the roads and the services are consolidated while maintaining the necessary
distance between various utilities.

with the transportation corridors while ensuring that necessary distance is maintained
between various utilities.
